Sun Jay sailing in the British Virgin Islands

British Virgin Islands

Sun JayCharters

A 46-foot sailing catamaran for private charter in the British Virgin Islands — by the day or by the week, April through December.

The Charter

A private yacht, on your own terms.

Sun Jay is a Moorings 4600 — a four-cabin sailing catamaran, based in Tortola and maintained to charter standard by the world’s largest yacht charter company.

Hire her bareboat for an experienced sailing crew, or add a licensed captain and a cook and let us handle the lines and the meals while you take in the islands. Charters are available by the day for a quiet escape, or by the week to follow the wind from Norman Island to Anegada and back.

Charters

Three ways to sail with us.

01

Bareboat · By the Day

A single day on the water for guests with prior catamaran experience. Pick a destination, choose a course, and return at sundown. Provisioning available.

From a quiet morning at the Indians to a sunset at Cooper.

02

Bareboat · By the Week

Take the helm for a full week and follow the classic BVI loop — Norman, Cooper, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke — at your own pace.

Seven days, four cabins, ten guests, one unforgettable wake.

03

With Captain

Prefer to leave the lines to someone else? Add a licensed Moorings captain to either charter — navigation, anchoring, and seamanship handled for you while you enjoy the islands.

Add on to any day or weekly charter.

The Yacht

Moorings 4600Four-cabin catamaran.

Designed by Robertson & Caine, the Moorings 4600 carries up to ten guests across four en-suite cabins. A walkthrough saloon, flybridge lounge, and expansive cockpit make her as comfortable at anchor as she is under sail.

The Cruising Ground

The British Virgin Islands.

A short sail between sheltered, mountainous islands — the BVIs are widely considered the world’s most forgiving cruising ground. Calm seas, steady trade winds, and line-of-sight navigation; a string of legendary anchorages, all within an hour of each other.

From The Baths at Virgin Gorda to the long pink reefs of Anegada; from a noon swim at the Indians to a Painkiller at the Soggy Dollar — a week here is a year of Caribbean memories.
